About Me

For more than 48 years, I have helped individuals and families navigate complex legal matters as a family law attorney, mediator, private judge, and arbitrator in the San Francisco Bay Area. My practice centers on finding creative, practical solutions for hundreds of clients facing sensitive issues, including property division, child custody, support, and domestic violence.

Professional Experience & Leadership

My commitment to alternative dispute resolution extends beyond private practice. I serve on the Alternate Dispute Resolution Panels for Santa Clara and San Mateo County Courts and have frequently served as a Judge Pro Tem, Temporary Judge, and municipal hearing officer. I have had numerous articles published in legal newspapers such as the Los Angeles Daily Journal and in family law magazines, on mediation related and family law related issues.

Early in my practice, I founded and co-chaired the Family Law Section of the Palo Alto Bar Association. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to teach mediation at Stanford University, lecture extensively to fellow legal professionals, and earn recognition as one of the region’s top family law attorneys.

Background & Civic Service

My legal education began at Golden Gate University School of Law—where I clerked for Superior Court Judge Lionel Wilson in Alameda County—following my undergraduate studies in English and Political Science at Rutgers University.

Giving back to the local community has always been a central pillar of my life. My past civic work includes six years on the Palo Alto Human Relations Commission (serving one year as Chair), board service with the local YMCA, volunteer work with the Palo Alto Mediation Program, and serving as a hearing officer for the Mountain View rent stabilization board. I am a member of the Rotary Club of Los Gatos, where I serve as the co-chair of its community service and grants committee. I was a commissioner of the Community Health and Senior Services Committee in Los Gatos, serving as its chairperson for one year. In 2025, I received a distinguished citizen of the year award. I regularly contribute articles for the Los Gatan newspaper on issues of importance to the community.
